When Suicide Makes More Sense Than Life
One year has already gone. And people have remembered to miss him much more than seemed possible before. Elliot Smith, one of the more credited references in the recent indie music isn't able to reach to us anymore... Except trough the recordings, and memories and possibilities provided by the imagination that is wider than anything and surpasses even death, which is supposed to be the end of it all (or not, depending on what you believe). But the legacy is what counts - in the music business and history, at least - and he left us much more than one album and several recordings (if that rings a bell, yes that's him the allusion refers to) even though the spirit contained in it his completely different. Only time (and the ability to creat myths) will let us know.
But in fact, when listening to his music, is it really possible not to understand why it wasn't possible for him to bear it any longer?

Li o teu post precisamente quando estou a fazer a primeira audição ao "from a basement on the hill".
É naturalmente mais um grande álbum. Vou escrever sobre ele no meu blog.
Há coisas que são eternas mesmo quando são recentes...
