I believe in coincidences. Some times the highly improbable (or what we most of those times erroneously believe to be highly improbable) happens. I doesn't have to mean anything.

We should invest in science

This thought came to mind when reading the following footnote in Proust was a Neuroscientist, by Jonah Lehrer:

"These treatments included [...] pulling their teeth, which was believed to lower the temperature of the body. Other unfortunate patients got the fever cure, in which psychosis was treated with an injection of malaria, tuberculosis, or typhoid."
